I live in Portknockie. The local primary school is situated just as the speed limit drops from 60mph down to a 30mph on the A942.This should be reduced to 20mph like other towns and villages.
Most roads in Portknockie have parked vehicles either side of the street outside properties. I would welcome the speed limit of 20mph for the entire village, how that would be enforced however would be difficult. That said, education of drivers, more paint on the road to encourage drivers to slow down and periodically, have the school children out in high vis with the local Police on a speed campaign!
It may focus minds and make drivers aware that inappropriate speed for the road conditions affects us all.
