Can my child get support without a diagnosis?
Yes, support is given on need, not a label.
Can the school refuse support while we wait for assessment?
The school will provide appropriate support for your child. This may not be the same support as for another child as everyone is unique.
Does a diagnosis automatically mean my child needs additional support?
No. Your child may require additional support in or others areas and not education or may require no additional support at all.
Who should I speak to first?
Your child's school could be the first place you speak to.
