Why are the Community having to update this play park

While I can confirm that we are on year five of a rolling programme of play park renewals funded by the Scottish Government Play Renewal Fund unfortunately, the play area at Linzee Gordon Play Park is not one which has been prioritised for whole play park renewal.

Play parks identified for renewal are based on an independent condition score.  Every year we have an independent annual inspection of all the 121 play parks we manage / maintain by a certified inspector and each play park is given an overall safety condition score.  The parks with the lowest score are the ones which are renewed first.  This year we are working with local steering groups utilising a participatory budgeting approach to renew Alice Littler Park, Aberlour, Archiestown Playing Field Park, Archiestown and Commerce Street Park, Lossiemouth all of which are lower scoring than Linzee Gordon Park.

We can support communities wishing to accelerate play park renewals by working with groups to support with fundraising and through the procurement process, we are delighted to be working with the Linzee Gordon Community Play Park Group to help drive this Community project forward.

When will the park be installed?

The current timeline for the play park installation to be completed is before the 31st of March 2026.  Once a successful supplier has been identified we will be able to confirm this date.

    How can I Help?

We are still looking for support to provide seating options in the park, contact the Linzee Gordon Community Play Park Group directly via their social media Facebook page to see how you can help with this.
