What are the Locality Networks?

The Locality Network brings together services working with children, young people and families across Moray to strengthen and improve local support across Moray. Through East and West locality groups and joint meetings, the Network helps partners share local intelligence, identify emerging needs and co-ordinate earlier, relationship-based support. It supports GIRFEC, The Promise and Children’s Services Planning by ensuring good practice, community experience and the voices of children and families inform local priorities and strategic improvement.

Why become a member?

Members benefit from;

  • Help finding partners to support a project
  • Access to a weekly information share
  • A Network of support, information and expertise

In order for this to work for everyone, we ask you to be share updates about your service and relevant information learned through the Network to your teams.

Using the Networks

The networks help identify the right partners, connections, and next steps when concerning trends or opportunities are raised. There are several ways to get in touch with the team.

In order to determine the best response it’s best to provide data around the trends you are seeing, for example how many families you have seen that have been affected by the trend you’ve noticed. Sometimes all it takes to address and issue is finding the right partner to work alongside.

For things that may escalate to a more multi-agency response one of the team will follow-up with you, arrange a meeting and look at what partners can be involved. These are short action focused groups that aim to address trends before they escalate.

Information and Training

Members who have signed up to our contacts are in receipt of a weekly information share, and are invited to all of our meetings. We presented larger, Joint Network meetings around specific identified themes, evidencing training needs and upskilling members on new strategic developments across the county.

We then devolve into place-based meetings within local communities to get a sense of what is emerging on the ground, as every area across Moray is different.

If you have any questions, or would like to be added to our contact list please get in touch at localitynetworks@moray.gov.uk
