FAQs
📌 About OYM
What is OYM?
Our Youth Moray (OYM) is a group of young people from across Moray who work together to make sure youth voices are heard where decisions are made. We collect ideas, run projects, and share them with the people who can make change happen.
Who can join OYM?
Any young person in Moray aged 14–25 can get involved. You can join your local ASG youth voice group, share ideas online, or apply to be one of the main OYM reps.
What’s the Youth Ambassador role?
This would be a Moray Council councillor who acts as a champion for OYM. They would take our ideas and issues directly to other councillors and decision-makers. We don’t have one yet, but it’s something we’re aiming for in the future.
💡 Sharing Your Ideas
What’s an ASG Ideas Board?
It’s an online space for young people in your area to post ideas, vote on others, and see what’s popular. Each ASG has its own board.
How do I share my idea?
Go to your ASG Ideas Board, click “Add Idea,” give it a title, and write a short description.
What happens after I post an idea?
Marc, Susan, and the main OYM group take the top-voted ideas from your ASG and bring them to decision-makers. Any campaigns that come from these ideas will be shared on the OYM News Feed so you can get involved.
Will all ideas be taken forward?
Not every idea can move ahead right away, but all are kept for future consideration. We choose ideas based on what’s most popular, realistic, and impactful.
📢 Staying Involved
How can I see what’s happening with my idea?
Check your ASG Ideas Board for updates and watch the OYM News Feed — we’ll post progress there.
Do I have to be part of a group to post?
No! Anyone aged 12–25 in Moray can post an idea or comment on others without being part of a group.
Can I give feedback about OYM?
Yes! Use our Guestbook to share feedback, positive or constructive, about working with OYM or attending our events.
🎉 Events & Projects
What events does OYM take part in?
OYM hasn’t taken part in events yet, but any future campaigns or events will be shared on the OYM News Feed for anyone to get involved in. If you see something you’re interested in, just speak to your local youth worker.
How can I get involved in a project?
Keep an eye on the OYM News Feed for opportunities, or speak to your youth worker about what’s coming up in your ASG.
What’s coming up next?
We post upcoming events on our News Feed, so check back regularly to see what’s planned.
