Since 2020/21 Moray Council has been carrying out a rolling programme of play renewal projects, funded by the Scottish Government's Play Renewal fund.
Our allocations from the fund were:

2023/24
2024/25
2025/26
Scottish Government Grant
£92,000

Using an overall condition score from our independently assessed annual play park inspections, we then identify play parks for renewal based on their overall condition score. We prioritise play parks for with the lowest overall condition score for renewal. A programme has been in place to deliver these renewals over financial years 2021/22 - 2024/25. We are currently on target to deliver committal of 2025/26 play renewals by end March 2026 with installations being completed before the end of March 2027.
Playparks which have undergone whole renewals since the begging of the programme are:
Rothes Play Park, Rothes (£163,000 - £50,000 allocated and £113,000 community funding)
Morven Play Park, Findochty (£70,000)
Logie play park, Cullen (£74,000 - £70,000 allocated and £4000 community funding)
Mannachie Play Park, Forres (£85,000 - £70,000 allocated and £15,000 community funding)
Letterfourie, Buckie (£80,000 - £70,000 allocated and £10,000 Common Good funding)
Alt Na Coire, Tomnavoulin, Speyside (£30,000)

Hopeman Play Park, Hopeman (£100,000)
We have also carried out a number of miscellaneous improvements including replacing large and costly parts, renewing surfacing and replacing individual items of play equipment.
