Consultation has concluded

Thank you to everyone who took part in the Carer Aware Moray design poll earlier this year.

The poll invited unpaid carers across Moray to help choose the design that will represent the new Carer Aware Moray campaign. This Health & Social Care Moray initiative is focused on improving recognition, awareness and support for unpaid carers across our communities.

About the campaign

Every day, unpaid carers across Moray provide essential care and support to family members, partners and friends.

The Carer Aware Moray campaign aims to help ensure unpaid carers feel:

  • recognised
  • valued
  • supported within their communities

As part of the campaign, local businesses, organisations and services will be encouraged to show their support for unpaid carers through:

  • carer awareness initiatives
  • welcoming and supportive spaces
  • offers or discounts for unpaid carers
  • increased understanding of carers’ rights and experiences

A recognisable campaign identity will help carers and the wider community easily identify participating organisations and support opportunities across Moray.

What we asked

We asked unpaid carers to choose their preferred design from three possible options for the Carer Aware Moray branding.

The chosen design will appear on:

  • Carer Aware Moray cards
  • pin badges
  • signage and promotional materials
  • participating businesses and community spaces

All three designs included butterfly and heart imagery to represent care, compassion, resilience and change.

What you told us

A total of 70 people took part in the poll.

The results were:

  • Design 1 – 15 votes
  • Design 2 – 24 votes
  • Design 3 – 31 votes

Design 3 (below) received the highest number of votes and will now become the official design for the Carer Aware Moray campaign.

What happens next

The chosen branding will now be developed for use across the campaign as work continues with local businesses, community organisations and partner services.

The campaign forms part of wider work across Moray to improve recognition and support for unpaid carers and aligns with the priorities set out in the Moray Unpaid Carers Strategy 2023–2028.

Thank you again to everyone who took part and helped shape the future identity of Carer Aware Moray.

    Next steps

As part of the Carers Aware campaign, we’re starting working with local shops and businesses to encourage them to offer discounts or special deals to unpaid carers, and with colleagues across health, social care, education and the wider community to raise awareness of unpaid carers’ rights and the support that can make a difference.

We will launch the campaign later in 2026, with details of how unpaid carers can sign up.
