Consultation has concluded

Every day, thousands of children and adults across Moray provide care and support to family members and friends who couldn’t manage without them. Unpaid carers play a vital role in our communities, often with little visibility or recognition.

Health and Social Care Moray (HSCM) is launching the Carer Aware Moray campaign to help change that. The campaign aims to make sure unpaid carers are recognised and appreciated in everyday settings.

We’re working with local shops and businesses to encourage them to offer discounts or special deals to unpaid carers, and with colleagues across health, social care, education and the wider community to raise awareness of unpaid carers’ rights and the support that can make a difference.

We want to create a clear, recognisable design for Carer Aware Moray, so the campaign is easily identified by everyone. The logo will appear on:

  • Carer Aware Moray cards – giving unpaid carers access to local offers and discounts
  • Pin badges – a visible sign of pride and recognition
  • Supportive business and community spaces – showing that organisations have signed up to support unpaid carers or have completed carer awareness training

Because the branding will be used across Moray, it’s important that it reflects unpaid carers themselves.

We’ve developed three possible design options, and we’re now asking unpaid carers to choose the one they prefer.

All three designs include a butterfly and a heart, representing change, resilience, care and compassion. The designs differ in style, colour and layout.

The most popular design will be used on carer cards, pin badges, and signage in participating businesses and community spaces across Moray.

Please complete the poll below by 31 January 2026.
