Moray Council’s Environmental Health Officers regularly test food to make sure it’s safe, accurate, and authentic.
That means checking things like:
Is the label telling the truth? (e.g., does a meatball contain the meat it claims?)
Is the food safe to eat at the end of its shelf life?
Is the product really what it says it is?
We’re creating a new community‑led food sampling survey, and we need your help. Your views will tell us what worries you, what gets in the way, and what matters when you’re buying food in Moray.
Have your say and help us focus on the issues that matter most to our community.
Please take a few minutes to answer four quick questions. Your feedback is important and completely anonymous.

Many people want to choose good food… but the local shopping environment can make it harder than it should be.
👀 What helps: ✔ Clear labels ✔ Knowledgeable local retailers ✔ Fresh produce when available
⚠️ What gets in the way: – Limited choice – Healthier options often cost more – Snacks & sugary foods placed where they're hard to avoid – Consumer information is not always clear on unpackaged food
💬 Bottom line: People can make good choices —but the healthier option isn’t always the easiest one. Working together with local shops + communities can help make healthier choices more visible, affordable, and accessible for everyone. 💚
