Libraries, Learning Centre & Heritage User Groups have been established in response to the considerable change and transformation requirements connected to the future delivery of the service within Moray. The user groups will enable a formal and regular community engagement method between the Council and active users of each library branch.

User Groups will help identify potential opportunities and improvements to ensure local need is met and that the service operates in as efficient and effective a manner as possible.

Dufftown user group will meet for the first time in early 2026.

    Library Proposed Opening Hours

    New Library Opening Hours – March 2026

    Thanks to staff and the local community for engaging in the recent consultation on the new library opening hours for the 11 branches across Moray.  We received over 850 responses from the public survey on the new hours.  Based on the staff and public feedback we have made 5 changes to the original proposal shared back in December across the 11 branches.  The new opening hours will commence on Mon 30th March 2026 and the new opening hours for Dufftown will be as follows;

    Dufftown – move Thurs opening 1hr later based on staff feedback from 2-6pm to 3-7pm

    10am-2pm
