Moray Council has allocated a budget of £100,000 to renew the play equipment and to improve the safety surfacing in Greenwards play park. The play park is located on HRA (Housing Revenue Account) land. The HRA is a ring-fenced account funded by the rent paid by Council tenants.

The funding made available from the HRA provides for new equipment and ground works to remove the existing equipment foundations. The funding is to be used to replace equipment primarily for children aged 5-12.

The climbing frame, toddler climbing frame and springer have been removed already. The swing set is at the end of life and will be removed just before the new equipment is installed.

This renewal will be completed using a participatory budgeting approach meaning that the local community will have the opportunity to influence the project scope of service (the description of what style of play we would like designers to provide) and to vote for their preferred design.

The chosen play park design will be installed by March 2027.
